Who We Are and What We Do

Bear Party Productions plans, promotes, and produces community events, campaigns, and publications for bears and bear lovers. Whenever possible, we coordinate our efforts to support nonprofit organizations working in and around the bear community.

We started this venture as a small team of dedicated volunteers, making progress toward meeting the requirements for 501(c)3 Nonprofit status in the state of California. Our primary approach is running a series of dance parties held across the United States which build community, promote local businesses, and support local organizations such as Magnet San Francisco, the Stop AIDS Project, and others. Most are held in spaces provided for nominal cost by local bars and club owners.

In addition to music and food, we engage local organizations to work with us to provide live entertainment, raffles, and other surprises, so each party is fresh and original. With the support of our sponsorship donations, we try to keep the cover charges low, so anyone in the community can participate.

Bear Party Productions events provides work for local vendors, support for worthwhile nonprofit community organizations, gives attendees an inexpensive and entertaining night out, and offers some needed visibility in these difficult economic times for participating businesses and groups working within the community.

A Community Trust

The founding directors of Bear Party Productions have been working together as part of the bear community since 2002. Their combined efforts have given bears and bear lovers all around the world a free quarterly print magazine with a print run of 25,000 copies, a free social networking website with more than 10,000 registered members, and scores of other products and services dedicated to the special interests of this underrepresented community.

A number of established companies and organizations, including CyberBears, Steamworks, The Complete Bear, Titan, COLT, and Pantheon, have already agreed to sponsor the Bear Party Productions events with money, products, and other promotional support. Many more have expressed interest in helping to host events in their communities.

What You Can Do

There are many ways you can support our efforts at Bear Party Productions:

• You can become a sponsor for one or more of our events, either at the local or the national level
• You can donate goods and services for our raffles
• You can volunteer your time, energy, and skills
• You can help publicize our events by posting our party banners on a website, or doing an email announcement.
• You can come to our events, and bring your friends!
